Student Admission

Music Therapy, Discovery ClassThe Meyer Center offers developmental education and therapy services to preschool children with disabilities in Upstate South Carolina. Families may contact the Center directly or may be referred by their physican or service provider, including the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, the Center for Developmental Services, the Health Department, BabyNet, and Family Connections of Greenville County.

Eligibility for Center services is determined by an admission team consisting of teacher, therapists, and social worker. Criterion for participation in the program is considered on a level of disability requiring at least two types of therapy (occupational, physical and speech therapy).

In 1998, the Meyer Center was granted Charter School status by the State of South Carolina.  This means that children age three and above who reside in Greenville County and qualify for special education services may attend the Meyer Center at no cost during the school year.

If a child is considered appropriate for the Meyer Center program, but classroom space is not available immediately, the child will be placed on a waiting list, but may begin receiving therapy services at the Meyer Center while awaiting enrollment.

For further information or to make an inquiry, please contact the Center's social worker, Susan Psimer, at (864) 250-0005, extension 203.
