General Information 

Teaching positions at the Meyer Center require a degree in elementary education with specialization in special education and a valid state teaching certificate.  Therapy positions require a degree and certification appropriate to each discipline.

Internship Opportunities

One unpaid internship is available annually for a student completing his or her degree in social work.   For information, contact Susan Psimer, (864) 250-0005, ext. 203.

Therapy and Classroom Observation

Opportunities for students enrolled in speech, physical or occupational therapy programs to carry out classroom or therapy observation requirements are available on a space-available basis.  Students are requested to make arrangements no less than one week prior to the date requested for observation.  To arrange a therapy or classroom observation, call the Center at (864) 250-0005 and leave a message for the Therapy Director or Education Director, as applicable.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities at the Center are open to individuals 16 years of age and above.  Volunteers must be age 16 and above and  must submit paperwork including a physical examination signed by their physician, complete a statement of physical health, have a TB test (or have had one within the past year) and undergo a background check.
